Ayla's last week in Malaysia

Monday 26th August 2013

Today was a boring day back at work. Gym, school, swim, noodles, yoga and bed.

Tuesday 27th August 2013

I had a pt. session with Awein this morning. It was incredibly tough and by lunchtime I was already aching. After school I swam and sat by the pool reading. In the evening I spent what felt like years uploading photos from my camera onto my tablet and then onto a USB stick. By the time it was done I didn’t even have the energy for yoga so I sacked it off and headed to bed.

Wednesday 28th August 2013

I had another good session at the gym today which set me up for a good day at school. It was the first day of exams and most of the students got off to a good start (except of course for those who bombed and have already failed) after school I felt drained so just caught up with some writing did some yoga and read.

Thursday 29th August 2013

Another really good session with Awein in the gym this morning and in fact it was the only good thing about my day. It was the last of the exams and when they finished we spent the afternoon doing paperwork and once that was sorted we sat and watched trailer park boys until we could leave at 4pm. On the way home I got some chocolate and sat by the pool reading until miserable weather forced me back inside before I even had a chance to swim. I crashed out on the sofa for an hour or so until it was time to head to Tropicana to meet Nicola and Lucy for dinner. We hit up beyond veg for tea (little did we know then but it was to be Ayla's last beyond veg meal) we ate and chatted and then they headed off and we met up with Ayla's mate David for some tea and cake I couldn’t decide on a flavor so got two pieces a huge piece of chocolate banana cake and a piece of black Forrest cheesecake which both went down a treat. By the time we got in it was well past our bedtime so off to noddy land we went.

Friday 30th August 2013

When I woke up this morning all I  could think of was “thank god its exam results day!” little did I know that would turn out to be a curse for me as I was on duty which meant I had to hang around until 5pm in case any  new students came in that needed to be assessed. It was infuriating  that not a single student came in and so I sat there twiddling thumbs (well that’s not strictly true I actually spent the time sorting out all my worksheets and planning my lessons for next week so it was pretty constructive) the time dragged by but finally it was time to leave at home there was time for a quick turnaround of showering and make up applying before heading back out the door it felt like a bit of a betrayal not to be putting on our cinema clothes and heading to beyond veg but this Friday we had a different agenda it was Ayla's last night in KL and we were going to paint the town red. It all started with a goodbye meal with two of her students (which although good fun felt a bit like a high school double date first stop Nandos followed by the arcade for some air hockey and car racing) about 9pm Layne picked us up and we headed into KL. The plan was to hit up some swanky bar with a kick arse city view but there was a private party on so we ended up in a Japanese restaurant knocking back our first drink. On the way there we walked around KLCC and got to see the bizarre fountain lightshow celebrating Independence Day. Then it was take two of the swanky bar but with an extortionate cover charge we sacked it off and headed for Changkut. The first bar we went to we got a bottle and promptly got smashed and took cheesy photos with the fireworks blasting in the sky behind us. It was then that I made friends with my downfall, the girl with the glasses who started buying me strawberry daiquiris and the night becomes a blur... There are vague memories about going to a new club where Ayla's pt. appeared there was a birthday party and many balloons were popped and then there was a trip to the bathroom and the night ended. Well not quite there was also a lot of vomit and a brief nap on the gravel in the car park but let’s leave it there.

Saturday 31st August 2013

Today I was a resident of Struggle Street Spew City. There was a lot of unpleasantness amid which Ayla had to pack I wasn’t sure she would make it to the airport and I don’t think she was sure either but she got there and got on the plane with only a few belongings left behind (including some rotten eggs in  the fridge) I was incapable of functioning and spent the day in bed with my arse hanging out feeling too miserable to even feel a scrap of embarrassment eventually around 9pm when I thought I would split in two from hunger I went to sleep (as I was still to incapacitated to make food.)

Sunday 1st September 2013

I got up early this morning and cleaned the house and did all my washing I also spread my stuff out throughout all the cupboards and drawers which were now all mine and tossed out bags of rubbish left behind by Ayla including her bag with the massive hole in it which has been rubbish for several months yet has remained in use! Clean up sorted I headed to the gym and did yoga class which was without a doubt the worst class I have ever attended. Then I had lunch by myself at veg. The plan was then to top up my tan for the afternoon but instead the sky closed over and there was a huge thunder and lightning storm so I watched moves instead.
